KENDRICK NAMED A HEALTH CARE HERO
COLUMBIA, MO — HealthPAC has named Rep. Kip Kendrick as a Health Care Hero. Kendrick joins three other members of the Missouri General Assembly who were recognized for their efforts to improve the health care climate in Missouri.
“Kip Kendrick has performed heroic work for his constituents — and all Missourians — by protecting health insurance consumers from high deductible health care plans that offer limited value for the holder,” said Jim Sinek, President of Boone Hospital Center. “Mid-Missourians and the health care provider community are fortunate to have Rep. Kendrick fighting for us in Jefferson City.”
As a member of the House Health Insurance Committee, Kendrick fought legislation that would harm patients and providers by dramatically increasing the co-pays and deductibles that policy holders could be charged by health insurance companies. High deductible plans only provide coverage after the insured individual pays significant out of pocket costs. If the insured individual doesn’t have the ability to pay the deductible, the coverage is not available.
Kendrick represents Columbia and Boone County in Missouri House of Representatives’ 45th District. He was first elected to the House in 2014.
