Commentary on the 2017 Legislative Session

Missouri’s 2017 legislative session has been described as perhaps the most volatile in history.  As of this date, the Governor’s decision to call for a Special Session is still unknown, as are the bills that would be considered. Only legislation specifically called for by the Governor can be included in a Special Session. With little backing for true ethics reform during session, despite Gov. Greiten’s reliance on that mantra during his campaign, it is an unlikely topic for Special Session should it be called.
