Honoring Columbian Sherman Brown Jr.

Last week Rep. Kip Kendrick filed HB 964 to rename a section of Providence Road in honor of Mr. Sherman Brown.

Mr. Brown was a tremendous individual, a successful business owner, a mentor to many, and a fixture in the Columbia community. The section of Providence Road between I-70 and the Business Loop, so renamed, would honor the location where Sherman and his siblings grew up.

Rep. Kendrick will request that the bill be referred to the tourism committee and be passed out of committee as a consent bill to fast-track it.

Letters in support of the legislation by the public and/or testifying in support at a committee hearing are encouraged. Those interested in doing so may reach Rep. Kendrick for more information.
