Kendrick champions the Allan Purdy Work-Study Act

This week, Rep. Kendrick presented the Allan Purdy Work-Study Act in committee. This bill would create more opportunities for students to work off campus in paid internships in fields that are directly related to their future careers. It is intended to help bridge the gap between education and post-graduate employment while reducing the burden of student debt. It gives the student a foot in the door, allowing them to prove themselves to employers and gives employers the opportunity to customize training.
It is a win-win arrangement that benefits both students and Missouri businesses by helping to retain a skilled workforce in the state. This is just one way to address the growing issue of student debt.
