The University of Missouri has announced that, as part of the compact, MU will offer the Missouri Land Grant and Missouri Land Grant Honors for Missouri residents. The Missouri Land Grant will cover all tuition and fees for all Pell-eligible Missouri residents who qualify for admission to MU. Missouri Land Grant Honors will meet 100 percent of unmet financial need, including tuition, fees, books and room and board, for Pell-eligible students enrolled in the Honors College.
The compact means that thousands of Mizzou students will be able to attend the university tuition-free. Based on current enrollment, it is expected that more than 3,500 MU students from Missouri will qualify for the grants annually, beginning Fall 2018.
Encouraged by this bold move, Rep. Kendrick said, “I applaud MU’s decision to offer the Land Grant Compact to Missouri residents. This program will make college more affordable and accessible for thousands of Missourians. This is a strong statement by the University that they are committed to meeting their land grant mission.”
